What do you like photographing?

I’m always taking photos and pretty much enjoy shooting most things. When I was first starting out I didn’t want to specialize because I wanted to do it all! Nowadays I mostly photograph weddings, families, high school seniors, and corporate headshots. Have a project you need photos of? Let me know and I’ll tell you if I can help!

ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO SHOOT OUR WEDDING?

I hope so! Please fill out my contact form and tell me a little bit about yourself and your wedding. I will check my availability and schedule a call with you to chat about your wedding plans.  I’m oftentimes booked six months to a year in advance.

I’m available to photograph weddings throughout Portland, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. I’m regularly in California visiting friends and family and love to travel!

Who is your ideal client?

You! My clients don’t need to fit any sort of mold. Everyone deserves beautiful photos that celebrate their life and love and they deserve to feel comfortable and supported while doing so.

WHAT DISTINGUISHES YOU AND YOUR WORK FROM OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS?

I think there are a couple of things. I’m very easy to work with. I arrive at your event with a lighthearted, easy going approach and an excitement to work with you and your friends and family.

Secondly, the images I create are full of light and vivid color. A current trend among wedding photographers is to produce images that are moody, faded, and dark. Oftentimes this is created by applying an image preset that flattens the highlights and shadows of an image producing a flat, washed out look. That’s not me. I want my images to be timeless and true to the moment in which I shot them.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT BEING A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

Oh man. Being able to take photos for a living makes me so happy and shooting weddings is one of the best workplaces ever. I love being part of such an exciting day and having an opportunity to capture details and moments that a couple will cherish for a lifetime. Weddings are such a wonderful, happy day and I’m so grateful that it’s my job to be part of that.

HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING WEDDINGS?

I’ve have been photographing weddings for twelve years. I started in the Bay Area with e&b photography, a partnership between myself and my best friend. These days I shoot weddings both on my own in Portland and in the Bay Area with e&b.

DO YOU WORK WITH SECOND SHOOTERS?

Yes. While I shoot many events solo having a second shooter for getting ready, cocktail hour, and other moments can really help. I work with associate photographers who have a similar style to my own and I edit their photos along with mine to provide a consistent final product.

DO YOU RELEASE YOUR RAW FILES?

No. To me, delivering unedited files would be delivering an unfinished product. The images you see on my website are not only a result of my photographic eye but also my editing style and together these complete the vision I have for each photo. That being said, I want to give you as many photos as I can and I’m always happy to take a look at your images again if you feel like I missed something.

DO YOU USE PHOTOSHOP?

Minimally. I take photos that are honest and authentic. While I occasionally touch up blemishes and make minor tweaks to flyaway hairs, etc. I don’t “airbrush” skin or erase family members out of frames.
